Although curtains can add a lovely touch to the decor of any bathroom, they can be replaced by several other fascinating window treatments to give a fresher and special look to your bathroom.
Moreover, curtains do not offer much scope to use your individual style for decorating your bathroom windows. On the other hand, if you choose to go for a modest look then you can use some of the window treatment tips to create the desired effect in your bathroom.
1. Using a plain fabric Roman shade or blind:
Fabric roman shades or roller blinds provide you with desirable privacy and also give a nice finishing touch to your bathroom window. With an impressive variety of such shades and blinds available in different colours, fabrics, decorative edgings and designs you can select one that can best suit your taste, complements the interior of your bathroom as well as keeeping within your budget limit. For a more enhanced appearance of your bathroom, you can also opt for a valance at the top of your bathroom window.
2. Changing the glass:
For more privacy you can change the glass of your bathroom window and replace it with a stylish patterned glass. You can do this by either replacing the existing glass or simply adding an attractive decorative film over the top of the plain glass. The best part about this is that you can use a film according to the theme of your bathroom furnishings, for instance, etched glass is perfect to suit bathroom furnishings of a Victorian style. You can also add a multi-coloured film or replace the window glass with stained glass for a multi-coloured effect to create a chic and unusual style.
3. Using Indoor Shutters:
Another window treatment that can look great in any bathroom is indoor shutters. Most of the shutters can be easily painted, untreated wood especially requires a coat as a protection from the humid atmosphere of a bathroom. You can use different attractive colours for the window shutters of your bathroom to inject colour and a trendy stylish look.
4. Adding Accessories:
If you don't want to use curtains and are of the opinion that your bathroom window is still looking incomplete, then you can add some accessories to the window sill and further enhance and add interest to your bathroom. You can go for a striking display of coloured vases, soaps, candles and bottles of different coloured bath oils. It would be great if you could also add some tropical plants with leaves of different shapes and size, these can look simply amazing with wooden shutters and blinds creating a forest effect in your bathroom.
5. Opting for Venetian blinds:
Silver coloured mini metal blinds give the illusion of a more spacious bathroom, especially to a bathroom designed in a modern style and bearing modern, chrome faucets and fittings.
Opt for cool colours white, turquoise, black, grey and bright pink to transform your bathroom from dull and boring to chic and trendy. On the other hand wooden Venetian blinds are a good option for bathrooms designed in nneutral colour tones. Ensure you choose wooden blinds which have special moisture resistant finishes to help prevent distortion. |
