To convert a boring bedroom into an interesting and beautiful place where you can leave your worries behind, the type of bedding you choose needs to be both practical and inviting. In the USA they use comforters to add personal and character to their bedrooms, whereas in the UK people tend to opt for duvets of different tog ratings throughout the year.
The latest bedroom interior styles include bed runners. These are widths of fabrics which are in a direct contrasting colour to the rest of the bedding. Usually the bed runners coordinates with curtains or the pillow shams to give an elegant and chic style to a bedroom. Whereas a comforter is smaller than the usual bed cover. Comforters are available in various designs, colours and styles, therefore selecting the right one according to your bedroom theme will not be a very difficult task! It should match with the colour of the walls and furniture of the bedroom. Older styles of homes have patchwork comforters, may of which have been passed down through the family and are heirlooms for many people. A revival in patchwork over the past few years has enabled people to make comforters which reflect their personality and also satisfy creative flair!
Comforters or bed runners should reflect the mood and ambience of your bedroom style. You also need to consider the colour and design of the carpet before buying any type of bedding. If you are planning to repaint the walls or redecorate your room, then buy one only after everything has been completed to ensure you select the correct shade or tone of colour to match the room.
The other thing you need to consider is to look for the quality of the bedding you choose. Quality rarely comes cheap but still it does not mean that you have to spend a lot of money for the 'perfect' bedding. Opt for polyester cotton blends as these are easy to launder and are also available as 'easy iron' which offers economy on both cleaning and time in busy lifestyles!
Modern design trends enable people to choose a wide variety of design themes and styles for their home, whether they are traditional, modern or contemporary. White bedding offers a stunning, clean crisp look which is very in-vogue this year. Country cottage themes are ideal for white bedding with an abundance of frills, lace and gorgeous cushions rich with embellishments, sequins and faux pearls.
Whereas, contemporary designs use white bedding which is sleek and unfussy. The great advantage of using white bedding is that it will look stunning with any wall or curtain colours. Keeping the duvet sets plain will enable you to inject colour into the room in many different ways which compliment the design of the room such as wall art, headboards or chic bed runners or comforters. |
