There are many causes for split-ends. One of the main causes for split ends is the amount of time an individual goes in-between hair cuts. If an individual waits too long between hair trims then the individuals tresses may become dry or brittle due to split-end damage. Other typical causes for split ends are vigorous brushing, coloring, perming, brushing hair when wet and the use of heat appliances. These are the most common ways in which the ends of the hair become split.

When treating split ends it is recommended by beauty experts to cut off the damaged fiber of the split end. Many people do not want to cut off their long locks so another way for treating split ends is to use a hair treatment, such as hot oil, at least once a week. A hair treatment is designed to repair hair that is dry or damaged. This way an individual can treat split-ends without having to cut their lovely tresses.

There are many ways to prevent thsi problem. Split ends prevention begins with routine hair-care. When preventing split ends an individual should use a shampoo or conditioner that contains hair thickeners. Another way in which split ends prevention occurs is when an individual squeezes the access water from the hair with an absorbent towel. When an individual rubs their wet tresses with a towel this can cause hair end damage. Another good hair care tip is to use a leave in conditioner that adds moisture to hair. It is also very important to limit the use of curling irons, hair dryers and other heart appliances.

It is recommended that people limit how often they perm or color treat their hair. For healthy, shiny looking locks an individual should receive a hair cut every six weeks.

Once an individual knows how to treat and prevent split ends then the individual will notice a dramatic change in the health of their hair. Hair that does not contain split ends looks shinier, fuller and healthier. It is important to take care of your hair on a daily basis. If you have split ends it is recommended to receive a hair cut and then to take preventive measures. This will allow us to have a future free of split end damage.

Our hair is a major part of our appearance and personality. It is very important to keep hair healthily, this ensures that we are always looking are best. Split ends may be here today but gone tomorrow.
